Effects of Zumba

What is Zumba?

Zumba incorporates hip-hop, cumbia, merengue, flamenco, reggaeton, soca, samba, salsa, and mambo dance movements to help provide time to exercise while dancing and having fun. Most of the styles come from Latin American dance and it’s usually performed by Latin American music. Zumba is an aerobic exercise that give a party-like environment.

Classes are set at a high-energy pace where the upbeat music motivates the dancers to give 100% dedication to buring calories and loosing weight. You don’t need to know how to dance or have any sort of rhythm to join Zumba. You just have to bring yourself and an open mind to learn new things and have fun!

Types:

There are many different types of Zumba. Some include: Aqua Zumba, Zumba for kids, Zumba Step, Zumba Toning, and more! For more details on the types, click here.

Benefits:

Zumba targets your entire body! Depending on the Zumba class you are interested in, you can get a full body workout. Traditional Zumba classes do not target your arms or your back, but you can find some that do.

Along with losing weight and exercising Zumba also benefits flexibility, strength, endurance, and lowers you’re risk of heart disease, blood pressure and cholesterol. The moves include high and low intensity intervals to create a great cardio workout.

This workout targets the whole body and especially focuses on the legs and butt. They have three girls demonstrating the movements. They also provide an alternative workout for those who are beginners.

This workout is a total-body workout where for 20 minutes you can work as hard as you can to get in the full workout. The beat and movements keep you motivated to pushing yourself. This is just a sample of the 60 minute live class.
